Tristan R. Peters

Tristan Peters is an associate at Hellmuth & Johnson who focuses his practice on collections, creditor remedies, and bankruptcy. He represents clients in complex financial disputes and works to protect their interests while maximizing recovery.

Prior to joining the firm, Tristan’s practice included creditor rights, financial recovery, and administrative law matters. He represented national and regional financial institutions in recovery actions and advised clients through all stages of dispute resolution.

Tristan is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. He earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and his B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder.

EXPERIENCE

  • Represents creditors in commercial collection matters, from pre-suit demand through judgment enforcement.
  • Prosecutes actions to obtain and enforce judgments on behalf of creditors.
  • Represents creditors in lawsuits against guarantors to enforce personal and commercial guaranty obligations.
  • Assists clients with foreclosure proceedings and related creditor remedies to recover secured assets.
  • Enforces judgments through post-judgment collection efforts, including garnishments, bank levies, and other collection proceedings.
  • Prepares and enforces confessions of judgment where authorized, helping clients efficiently resolve outstanding obligations.
  • Advises creditors on available collection and enforcement strategies to maximize recovery while complying with applicable laws and procedural requirements.
  • Manages creditor litigation involving contract enforcement, debt recovery, and related commercial disputes.
  • Represents commercial landlords in matters involving lease enforcement, unpaid rent, and related landlord-tenant disputes.
  • Represents construction companies in the enforcement of mechanics’ liens and related litigation to recover payment for labor, materials, and services provided on construction projects.
